Design Engineer
Our client a multinational medical device company is currently seeking a design engineer to join their team. Working on custom designs, develops, builds and maintains a wide range of production equipment to the latest equipment and medical/pharmaceutical manufacturing standards. The successful candidate will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team working on a broad range of equipment projects. This will involve working with the latest production equipment technologies in motion, vision and controls.

Role/ Responsibilities:



  • Designs and develops software, controls and reporting tools for new & existing equipment.

  • Design database and SCADA systems and be able to interface these systems with machine controllers

  • Be familiar with all aspects of equipment validation and 21 CFR part 11 guidelines.

  • Prepare equipment design specifications and associated documentation.

  • Provide software support to the Maintenance, and Manufacturing groups.

  • Take ownership of existing equipment and technologies on site, become an expert in these systems, and initiate value improvement projects.

  • Develop and enhances cross-functional team relationships and work cross-functionally to identify and resolve technical and organisational issues.

  • Ensure best design practices are employed so as to maximise equipment effectiveness.

  • Provide necessary training to Engineers and Technicians as required. Evaluates in conjunction with EH&S new equipment/processes/chemicals for environmental impact/effect to eliminate or lessen such impacts/effects.



Skills Experience & Qualifications:



  • Bachelors in Engineering (electronic/software/industrial) preferred.

  • A minimum of 1 year in software/database design role.

  • Knowledge and experience with at least one of the following:

  • Visual Basic, VB.Net, SQL Database, SCADA or PLCs

  • Individual must be an effective leader with drive and enthusiasm

  • Have proven facilitation skills and communication skills

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Must have a vision in implementing a 'Systems driven approach'
